Taiwan!!

We made it! Oh my goodness we made it to Taiwan! I love it here! The trip here was very long but luckily all of our luggage got here and so did we! A lot has changed in the time that we have been here.  We have moved into our house and it is so cool! There are only two bad things about it: 1 me and my sister have to share a room for a little while. 2 We only have one laptop and it is the only thing that can get on the internet or be used to watch movies. But other than those two things it is Awesome!

This past weekend a girl from our neighborhood took us down into Taipei on the bus! It was the first time that I have been on a city bus and it was insane! It is pretty fun at the same time! While we were in the city we found our school, an awesome burger place and a store that has Italian food!( we always do a big Italian dinner on Christmas and we were worried that would not happen, but since we found the Italian food it will happen) I loved going into the city and seeing all of the shops and things like that! We also went into this huge mall! It had 7 floors! You dont see that in Utah!

Also this week is Christmas! Oh i love Christmas, but at my house it does not feel like Christmas! The only Christmas decor that we have is a little strand of snowflakes that is suppose to remind us of Utah snow.( it is not working) We are waiting for our shipment to come that has all of our Christmas stuff in it! If that does not get here by Christmas, Christmas might be a little late this year! Oh well at least we made it to Taiwan!

Basketball, Basketball and a Fresh Start!

So for a while now it has been my dream to be on the Freshman Basketball team at my Junior High! Well that dream came true! This week we had try outs, practice and more practice! I feel like all I have done this week is go to Basketball and I love it! The team is awesome and I think that the coaches are really good to! The only down side is… WE ARE MOVING!!! AHHHH!!!!! It is coming up so fast! There are so many after school things that I am involved in, that I can not really picture leaving all of it. On the bright side i do get a fresh start! I have never done that before! My friends think that I should die my hair or do something crazy like that! I wonder…..

Inventory, Chinese and moving day!

Wow this week has been crazy!! So first of all we are still working on our Chinese, which is interesting. Every time we get in the car to go some where my mom turns on this tape and we do another lesson. The lessons are usually about an hour and I think it is really helping our Chinese!
Then this week we also found out the day that we are moving. 😦 It was pretty scary to know the exact day and I am starting a count down. I still can’t decide if I am excited or scared or happy or sad. I guess it is a mish mosh of all of those feelings, oh well.
Last but not least my least favorite thing, inventory. When I heard that we had to do inventory back in July I thought oh this will be fine it won’t take that long. Boy was I wrong. My mom does most of it but last week I did all if my cloths and shoes and it took 2 days! I did not know that I had that many items of clothing!( for those of you who don’t know what goes into inventory you have to take pictures of every single thing! Then you have to put it into this computer program and fill out all this info about it) I will be so glad when this whole move is over and done with!

Daddy I love you Daddy I do

Well if there are some people out there who wonder how some families can get along with out their dad  all i have to say is that we dont! We all have problems and there are some days where we just all sit in our rooms and think about the happy times that are to come when he gets to come home for a day or two! It is so weird  just talking to him on the computer or on the phone! He makes fun of me all the time because half of the time that we call him it has to do with computer questions!

Whenever I talk to my friends and they talk about how mad they are because there dad yelled at them or he took their phone I just want to shake them and say how lucky they are to have a dad at home! I feel like I never appreciated my dad but know and i regret all those times that i declined his offers to go to the store with him. Just so you know my dad is not dead! He is just in training and we get to see him about once a month.  Well all i want to say now is Daddy I love you Daddy I do !

My life for now!

A lot has happened in the last 2 months! I feel like me life has turned upside down. After we found out we were moving to Taiwan there was a lot of scrambling! We have started to learn Chinese! Which by the way is very hard. We also have been talking to people who are actually living on the mountain that we could be potentially be living on! It will be good to be around mountains because when we were in Washington D.C. I missed my Utah mountains so much! Any way we also have been with out my dad for the last 2 months! It has been so hard! But he gets to come home every month and we always do really fun things as a family! Well thats my life for now!

Our 1 Post Is….

Taipei Taiwan!!! I am so excited to move to Taiwan!! For those of you who did not know My first choice was Nairobi Kenya. I was disappointed when they called that one and they did not say my dads name but I am so excited to go to Taiwan!

We did it!!

Wow!!! We finally got in! I have mixed emotions but for the most part I am so excited! My dad starts on August 2! Then we might leave as early as December! I am so excited to go to washington dc for a little while. We are going to have so muh fun!

Will this really happen?

The wait is killing me! I wish they told you right as you got on the list! i want to try out for all of these things at school but if we move i can not do them! So far nothing has happened we are just waiting for a miracle to happen. I hope we get into that May class! I am starting to think that the Foreign service is not going to happen. 😦

Washington D.C.

A few days ago I was talking to my parents and they say that if my dad gets into the May or June class we will move to D.C.! I do not want to move to D.C.. I do not want to drop everything here then drop everything in D.C. and move. That will be 2 schools in 1 year! I want my dad to get into the Foreign Service, but I think that we should stay here at home for as long as possible. ( P.S. Does any one want a cat?)

Backround

My Dad is applying for the Foreign Service. He reads all the blogs and loves to read all of the crazy things that people do. He told me that there are no blogs about the Foreign Service from a kids point of view. Even though we are not really in the Foreign Service I feel like It is such a big part of my life already. So here we are. Today we found out that they sent out the March Invites. When i heard that He did not get one i was crushed. Every time that they send out new invites and we do not get one, I feel like it is becoming more of a dream then reality.
